The Snake game is a classic video game concept that originated in the late 1970s and became iconic in the late 1990s thanks to mobile phones.

1976: The concept first appeared as an arcade game called Blockade, developed by Gremlin.

1980s–90s: Variants of the Snake game appeared on home computers and consoles, often under different names. One notable version was Nibbler (1982), which combined maze navigation and a growing tail.

1997: Snake gained worldwide fame when it was pre-installed on the Nokia 6110 mobile phone. This version was simple, addictive, and playable on a wide range of devices, helping it become one of the most-played mobile games of all time.
